Prayer Service! good? bad?

This is the flyer that is circulating the island encouraging the faithful to support. I would love to go but I have a great fear. This is a PROTEST hiding behind the guise of a PRAYER SERVICE.

This is on speculation but I feel there will be people showing up holding signs of protest against the Archbishop and this is not a way to BUILD BRIDGES.

I support the call to prayer but if people come with different intentions, we have a problem, and any attempt to begin the healing and continuation of our church on island will be dampened more by the ideals of a diverse people.

I hope that "biased" signposts will be discouraged at this "prayer service" and that the people are encouraged to continue to support the clergy and the church, through prayer and fasting.

Grade Archbishop Anthony Apuron's handling of recent church controversies.. See the result a big surprise. There are supporters of the Archbishop if they like it or not.

This will be the first of many posts that I hope to share with readers about my experiences within the Neocatechumenal Way here on the island of Guam. For the sake of not having to type "Neocatechumenal" over and over I will mostly be referring to it as "The Way" or the "NCW"and to set things straight by me referring to it as "The Way" does not mean that it is "The only way".

I will try my best to speak in lay terms and in everyday english, please excuse me in advance if I have some grammatical errors.

Well if you dont know already, the NCW is an itinerary within the Catholic Church. I say itinerary because it is a journey. It is more than a movement or a group that meets regularly during the month. To me, the NCW has brought me to a way of life, a Christian way of life that is.

The NCW was started by Kiko Arguello in Madrid. There is this long story of how it came to be but I will cut it short and just say that the Lord worked his ways and allowed certain experiences to happen in the life of Kiko and today he is one of the three on the Team of Initiators of the NCW. The other two are a former nun, Carmen Hernandez and a priest, Father Mario Pezzi.

I believe this all started in the mid to late 60's but today it is still alive and has been approved by Rome. It has also made its way to my island home of Guam. This is what most of my sharing will be about. My experiences within the NCW here on the Island of Guam.
